New York

In "Laughter In Carthage" by Michael Moorcock i Max (Pyat) is now in New York, where things are much the same as Paris where he has left Esme with his friend.

 "Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe" by Benjamin Alire Sáenz, is complete, and it is an excellent, easy read which I would recommend if you are fine with a love story between two teenage boys. I enjoyed it. "Aristotle and Dante Dive Into the Waters of the World" is the follow-up up and it seamlessly continues the first book, though I am only twenty pages into a five-hundred-page tome.

I am still reading "Imajica" by Clive Barker on my Kindle. This is a book I never want to end. When I finish it, I just restart it.

Zeppelins In Paris

 "Laughter In Carthage" by Michael Moorcock is half completed. Max (Pyat) is now building a zeppelin in Paris and has come into a lot of money after being hunted as a spy and saboteur.

 "Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe" by Benjamin Alire Sáenz, is continuing. Date has kissed Aristotle much to Ari's annoyance, and Ari is going bowling with Dante's dad.

I am still reading "Imajica" by Clive Barker on my Kindle. This is a book I never want to end. When I finish it, I just restart it.

Venice and then Rome

 "Laughter In Carthage" by Michael Moorcock is still very dense, Max (Pyat) is obsessed with flying machines and Christianity as a conquering force, nothing else. He and Esme are now in Rome, via Venice with a view to getting Paris while observing triple-decker funeral trams.

 "Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe" by Benjamin Alire Sáenz, which is a far easier read, but Ari is just recovering in hospital from a car accident after saving Dante

A Carthaginian Traffic Jam

 "Laughter In Carthage" by Michael Moorcock is still fairly dense (2 chapters on one page is a lot), so it is just a hell of a lot of text, but the chapters are getting shorter quicker. am now almost a third of the way through, but there is not much movement or anything happening, most descriptions and reminiscing, and Max finds a child that he now has to look after, who reminds him of a lost love. Still ploughing on though.

"Laughter In Carthage" by Michael Moorcock is still fairly dense (2 chapters on one page is a lot), so it is just a hell of a lot of text, but the chapters are getting shorter quicker. 130 pages in, I am on Chapter 5. I still don't know what it happening, but Maxim Pyat is moving from soldier to businessman/agitator. This would not do for everyone, but I am pressing on, and it has not scared me away yet.

Black Sea

"Laughter In Carthage" has continued with a forty-page dense opening chapter set mostly on the Black Sea, with implications that the United States of America is a destination. Oddly, this is the only book of the quartet that I cannot find on Amazon, so I was lucky to pick it up from Leakey's in Inverness.
