Suddenly It's Christmas

This song always cheers me up , a Loudonesque take on the commercial season.  Though I'd just heard an acoustic version before, but what the hell I've put this one up. In case you didn't know Loudon is Martha and Rufus's dad and wrote a song for Rufus when he was born called "Rufus is a Tit Man" , how wrong he was!

A friend told me to listen to this guy, Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu, absolutely stunning, I always find it amazing that however old you get there is always something new to discover. Have a brilliant Friday everyone , I will!

You Never Know

Well the threatened Arctic blizzards have not materialised again,  and yesterday was actually quite warm. Today looks just like a normal day, apart from the fact it's still dark (and there's nothing much we can do about that), but at least we get to see the sun rise.

I've chosen "Blanche Com La Neige" by Kate and Anna McGarrigle, Kate was mother to Rufus and Martha Wainwright but sadly died of sarcoma in 2010, a great loss to the music world. But enjoy this and track down the McGarrigle's other recordings , as well as the Wainwright's as well.
